חֲגַל
חֲגַל(cmp. חגג) 1) to draw a circle. Targ. Prov. 8:27 Ms., v. חֲגַג. 2) to go around, v. infra. Pa. חַגֵּל to go around (visiting, peddling, begging; cmp. P. Sm. 119 1). Y.Sot.III, 19a bot. (expl. שובבית) (read:) מְחַגְּלָה ונסבתוכ׳ she goes about visiting and gets a bad reputation. (Gen. R. s. 17 והוות חַגְלַת נגידה לה Ar. ed. Koh.; Yalk. Is. 352 והוות חגלה נגידא ליה and she (his wife) went around begging, leading him.
